About
I use the ukulele in non traditional ways to perform music ranging from Debussy and Bach to Led Zeppelin, Radiohead and Gorillaz!
My performances challenge audience's perception of what can be played on the ukulele, often seen as a toy instrument meant for easy strumming and singing along. I use fingerstyle to play music as diverse as 16th century renaissance guitar chansons to piano classics by Beethoven, Bach, Debussy, to modern day iconic bands such as Radiohead, Gorillaz, Led Zeppelin, and Metallica.
This concept was featured on CBC radio as part of my Master's degree concerts as well as several ukulele festivals and magazines. With over 2 million views and 13 000 followers, this music is slowly transforming the norm of what can be done on the little instrument. For intimate venues, I usually bring my Renaissance Guiar (16th century) and Baroque Guitar (17th-18th century) instruments for a quick performance and a show n tell.
My program is about diversity of repertoire to allow as many members of the audience to feel included in an intimate environment and walk away learning something new about music, history, and oneself
