A student of song and poetry, she aspires to combine the poetics of Joni Mitchell with the irreverence of Bob Dylan and the weirdness of Tom Waits. birdheat arms herself with an acoustic guitar that, while it might not be 'a machine that kills fascists' as Woody Guthrie's guitar famously said, at least sometimes pokes undesirables with lyrics as sharp as the pointy parts of strings that stick up from her headstock.
