About
I make stuff
Sometimes, I show others how.
I've been an artist/maker/creator for as long as I can remember. Painting, drawing, pen and ink, sculpture... I've always been drawn to 'making stuff'.
In 2022 I decided to try pysanky aka Ukrainian egg decorating.
I'm Ukrainian by blood, but I was adopted. Raised by a German and Irishman, I didn't grow up with Ukrainian traditions. I've since met my biological family and they make eggs every Easter. As a lover of making stuff, I decided to host them April of 2022 to make pysanky. But unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID. So no one could come over.
Noticing my disappointment, my husband encouraged me to still make a few eggs. So I did.
I have not stopped.
I've made at least an egg a day ever since. I've never been so connected to an artform in all my years of creating.
Through workshops and demonstrations, I am honoured to share my creations and the process with others. I am helping to keep this traditional craft alive.
Creating art from the everyday is something I am passionate about. I also offer workshops in bookfolding, a unique way to reinvent our old books.
