In 2022, Sans Bliss (aka Ian Robertson) founded the indie rock group | THE EXISTence | in Edmonton, featuring a full band lineup. Within a year, the band created 15 original tracks and performed at various local venues, including Lone Pine Distilling, Bountiful Farmers Market, and Jackie Parker Park. The band has a linktree site, youtube channel, instagram, facebook, and fundraising pages online. They also recorded their music and released it on Spotify and Apple Music with their debut single - Burning Flames. Currently, they are actively fundraising and preparing to record, mix and master a 13-song studio album titled 'Behind Spines and Lifelines' in 2024, produced by local sound engineer James Seabrook of Two Bodies of Water Productions. As a young individual, my journey into the world of music began with piano and vocals, which eventually paved the way for my exploration of the harmonies and rhythms of the acoustic guitar. Music has been a lifelong passion for me, a quest to find the notes that resonate with my soul. During my early twenties in Calgary, I played a pivotal role in the formation of the band BRASS alongside Todd Kipp and Matt Gillespie. As a member of the band, I served as the rhythm guitarist for a two-year period. This experience exposed me to the intricacies of band life, including song development, the creative process, marketing and promotions, live performances and gigging, sound technology, and production. Over the subsequent decades of my life, I continued to hone my skills in guitar music and songwriting, amassing three decades of experience. Fast forward to 2022, when I, Sans Bliss, founded the local indie rock group known as | THE EXISTence|, featuring a full band lineup. In just one year, our band has crafted over 15 original tracks and graced audiences with our live performances since September 2022 at various Edmonton venues, including Lone Pine Distilling, and Bountiful Farmers Market YEG. Also, we have ventured into the studio (Two Bodies of Water Productions YEG) to record our music and have made our songs available on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music. Currently, we are actively engaged in fundraising efforts and preparing to record a 13-song studio album titled 'behind spines and lifelines,' slated for release in 2024.
