Erika Mae is an artist from Calgary, Alberta, currently located in Edmonton. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Jazz and Contemporary Music voice performance degree at MacEwan University while also developing her professional music career. She has always loved performing and being able to connect with an audience on an emotional level. While her personal style leans more towards Americana, she also loves performing music in genres such as Jazz, R&B, Pop, Country and more. Her voice has been described as rich and resonant, sincere and expressive, dreamy, elastic, big and powerful, timeless—entirely her own and outside the box. She’s recently been likened to artists such as Brandi Carlile, and is proving to be a gifted songwriter/lyricist of insight and depth. She has performed in events such as the Calgary Stampede Talent Search (Boyce Theatre), Calgary Stampede Windows on the West stage, Olympic plaza, Heritage Park, as well as won first place awards in multiple categories at the Calgary Performing Arts festival. She typically performs a variety of cover songs as well as some original music, usually accompanying herself on piano or with a guitarist or band.
