Newfoundland-raised and Alberta-based singer-songwriter, Joy Robinson, has a passion for creating spaces in which audiences can relax with safety to feel, question, and ponder the messy and spectacular parts of life (and maybe have a laugh or two as well). Her debut, 11 track LP entitled "A Little at a Time" was released in 2024 and is a pop-infused folk record with sprinkles of traditional Newfoundland instrumentations and musical theatre influences. The album's release concert filled the venue with electricity and quiet attentiveness with audiences praising Joy's vocal agility, stage presence, and ability to hold a room with the roar of a full band or simply sitting solo at a piano or with a guitar. Her stage presence, song-writing, and musicality has been affectionately compared to that of Sara Bareilles, Shania Twain, and Kelsea Ballerini. She is drawn to lyrics that explore the spiritual and emotional nature of our human existence as well as the quirky and ordinary things that make life beautifully messy. She incorporates her many musical influences to melodically and lyrically paint a captivating story from beginning to end.
