About the artist
“Canadian Chamber-Pop artist Elise Boulanger is a haunting vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and environmental advocate creating cinematic dreamscapes upon resonant strings and rhythmic energies. ”
Elise Boulanger is a sweet darkness wrapped in orchestral instrumentation. Hailing from the West Coast of Canada, this Chamber-Pop artist completely captivates audiences with her haunting avalanche of a voice. Boulanger is a bilingual environmental advocate that creates cinematic dreamscapes atop cello, violin, piano, drums and ukulele. Deemed as "definitely one to watch" by the Times Colonist, Boulanger is influenced by nature and is sonically reminiscent of Kate Bush. ‘The Blooming,’ EP (2022) is Boulanger’s newest release. It’s bursting with unforgettable melodies. Her music video, “It Started in the Garden”(2021), bestows a growing awareness about the importance of biodiversity and contrasts the jubilant, “Cigarettes et rosé” (2020) which launched her onto CBC radio. She continues to be played by national community/college radio, CBC Radio Canada and has made TV appearances on CKPG’s Today Show (2022). Performing for over 15 years, Boulanger is at home on any stage and has toured Western Canada. Notable performances include opening for Carmanah (2022), the JUNO celebrations (2018) and many festivals and theatres in BC including Arts Wells (2022), Robson Valley (2022), Woodstove (2022), The Port Theatre (2021), and The Tidemark Theatre (2021). Beyond Canada, she has performed in Mexico (2022), Belize (2017), France, Germany and the Republic of Georgia (2019). For more, visit https://www.eliseboulanger.com
