About
The Child Life Specialists and Therapeutic Arts department at the Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH) is looking to enhance the ambiance of the hospital by working with musicians who are interested in volunteering to perform at the ACH.
- This is a volunteer opportunity.
- Instrumental-only acoustic background music.
- Musicians must be experienced & 18+
- The ability to improvise freely is an asset.
- All types of musicians are welcome, eg, keys, guitar, strings, accordion, etc.
- Solo or duets are welcome.
- Musicians must be flexible and sensitive to the needs of a hospital environment, which includes being comfortable with interruptions and interacting directly with the public.
- All genres are encouraged to apply.
- This is a pilot program, and volunteers would be asked to perform once per week for a period of 6-8 weeks.
Successful applicants will have an orientation with an ACH music therapist to determine comfort and fit with the program.
