With roots in the punk rock scene, Kevin Towill fronted the Calgary-based shred-punk band The Reckless Heroes until they disbanded in 2017. He then put playing music on the backburner and settled into an office job – until realizing that music was far too important and self-identifying to abandon completely. Putting out is his first solo record, After the Party is Over, in 2021 – he’s gone on to release a second record – Slowly Becoming Myself Again – and continue to play acoustic shows around the city.
