Calgary's trombone community comes sliding into the Christmas season with the third annual Jingle Bones event. Originated in Calgary by trombonist Kris Leslie who brought the long-standing tradition from Toronto, this informal, unplugged, all-trombone gathering showcases impromptu, unpolished, sometimes hilarious renderings of holiday favourites, everything from traditional carols to Tchaikovsky to Mariah Carey and all points in between, featuring anywhere from 3 to 30+ trombonists. This year we will be raising funds through voluntary donations to help a member of our trombone community who is dealing with very challenging health conditions and has been unable to work since last Spring.
